A teen version of Shaquille O'Neal has made an appearance? Physically at least, he seems to be no match.
Cheongju Dream Team Basketball Class (Cheongju KCC) operates a hobby class and a national team by age, led by former professional coach Kim Dong-woo.
One athlete stood out especially at the training site for the national team, where many age groups gathered and received professional guidance. The main character is Lee Ji-won, a third grader in elementary school. Even though she is only nine years old, she boasts overwhelming physical strength, measuring 163 cm and weighing nearly 85 kg.
"It's only been about a month since I officially started playing basketball, so it's too early to assess my performance," said Kim Dong-woo, head coach of the Cheongju Dream Team. However, there seems to be no such figure anywhere in the country. Many people would think Ji-won's appearance is slow, but she's having a hard time because she doesn't understand the movement of basketball yet. She has good athletic sense and understanding, so she will grow quickly," Lee said in highly evaluating her potential. "I'm looking forward to seeing Shaquille O'Neal come out when I was in elementary school."
The athlete himself showed off his outstanding physical strength. Lee Ji-won said, "I don't think I've ever seen a kid taller than me at the same age when I go to competitions or look around schools. Height seems to be especially important in basketball. I think it's advantageous because the opponent doesn't interfere with my shot even when I reach out high."
He has tremendous physical strength for his age, but as coach Kim Dong-woo said, he has a lot of things to grow as his ball power is short. Lee Ji-won is working hard to improve his skills such as slow feet, physical strength, and basic skills.
Lee Ji-won said, "It's been a while since I started playing basketball, but it's so much fun. I feel nervous and excited when I'm facing my opponent. Since I started playing basketball, I can feel my physical strength improvement, so that's one of the advantages. "I want to improve my dribbling and running," he said.
The basics of body and basketball were not yet complete. Nevertheless, superior physical strength was enough to raise expectations for future moves. Let's pay attention to Lee Ji-won, who is gradually becoming more interested in basketball, and Kim Dong-woo, who has high expectations for Lee.
