Something that shouldn't have happened.
Sevilla beat Rayo Vallecano 2-1 in the 23rd round of Spain's La Liga in the 2023-24 season in Estadio de Vallecas, Spain, on the 6th (Korea time). Key striker Youssef En Nesiri scored multiple goals to give Sevilla the win.
However, there was a scene that caused a lot of controversy during the match. In the 32nd minute, Sevilla's Lucas Ocampos caught the ball off the field and was ready to put it in immediately.
Here, a Rayo fan in the stands stabbed Ocampos in the anus with his finger. It was an act called 'spitting poop.' This happened because the stadium and the stands were close.
Ocampos continued after a brief embarrassment. However, in a post-match interview, he said, "I want the La Liga secretariat to take this matter seriously. Not all Rayo fans feel that way. Rayo fans have always shown respect, but there is at least one fool everywhere."
He continued, "I hope this doesn't happen anywhere else. What if this happened in women's soccer? I was angry, but I put up with it because I remembered my two daughters."
Sevilla, aware of Ocampos' situation, did not stand by. Sevilla posted on its official website after the match: "Ocampos has been subjected to lewd and inappropriate behavior by a Rayo fan. He is deeply sorry and the club hopes that the appropriate measures outlined in the regulations will ensure that these actions are not repeated."
He also didn't forget to support Ocampos. He added, "I'm rooting for Ocampos who showed professionalism despite the unacceptable behavior of Rayo fans."
