Gwangju FC will bring Yokohama F. Marinos Japan home and hold the first Asian Champions League Elite ACLE match in the club's history.
On the 16th, the ACLE League Stage draw for the 2024/25 season was held at the AFC House in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The ACLE League Stage match is a method in which each team plays a total of eight games at home and four away games, and meets four teams from one port and four teams from two ports.
As a result of the draw, Gwangju will play the long-awaited first round of ACLE against Yokohama F. Marinos at Gwangju World Cup Stadium at 19:00 on September 17, bringing Shanghai Shenhua China, Johor Darul Tajim Malaysia, and Buriram United Thailand to their home turf.
In addition, Gwangju will make its first overseas trip against Kawasaki Frontale on October 1, facing Vissel Kobe Japan, Shanghai Haigang, and Shandong Taishan China.
Gwangju, which is currently playing both the league and the Korea Cup, has recently shown an upward trend despite its tight schedule, raising fans' expectations for ACLE propaganda.
Attention is focusing on how Gwangju's offensive soccer will look on the Asian stage.
Meanwhile, Gwangju will return to the Gwangju World Cup Stadium for the first time in four years since 2020 to play ACLE.
